The four steps
1
Week 1 · Shipped work
The agents ship the first changes, and the Monday note lists each one with a link.
2
Week 2 · Crawler fetches
We count how often AI crawlers fetch each changed page after it goes live.
3
Week 4 · Impressions
Search Console starts to report impressions for the changed pages, about two days behind.
4
Week 8 · Citations and goals
We report whether answers name or link you for the first time, and how each goal is pacing.
Why it runs in this order
Each step is the earliest point at which that signal can honestly appear.- Work comes first because it is the one thing fully in our hands. A pull request opened, a page rewritten, a pitch drafted: each is listed with a link the week it ships, and the same acts are on your receipt.
- Crawler fetches come next because a crawler has to fetch a changed page before an engine that searches the web can quote the new version. These are counts of fetches, not of answers. See AI traffic for why a fetch and a citation are different things.
- Impressions follow because Search Console reports with a delay of about two days, and a new or changed page takes time to be shown at all.
- Citations and goal pace come last. Answers change slowly, and some come from what a model learned months ago, so a citation or a goal moving is reported as what it is and never presented as the result of the work.
Where you see it
At signup. On the plan step, under the plan and the budget, before you go to checkout, headed What you’ll see in your Monday note. No week is marked yet. In the Monday note. The Monday note carries the same four steps under What to expect in your first eight weeks, with the line “You are in week N”. In the app, the step you have reached is also marked; the email lists the steps in order. The weeks count from the day the workspace was created, not from payment: week 1 is its first seven days, and the timeline stops showing after day 56. The first Monday note a workspace receives always carries the timeline. If that note comes after the eighth week, it shows the steps without a week number. The signup page and the note use one shared set of steps, so they cannot describe different timelines. The note is the Monday edition of the morning brief. When a signal cannot be measured
Two of the steps depend on something being connected. When it is not, the note says why in words, never with a zero that could mean “nothing happened”.
If a change went live too recently for Search Console’s reporting delay, the note says the change is still inside that delay. It does not print a zero.
Shipped work and citations need nothing extra. Citations come from the answers we already read for your prompts. Goal pace is shown for the goals your workspace has.
